We converted a former warehouse space
to a live music club for up to 190 people.
The Klub der Töne was inspired by some of New York's best jazz clubs like the Blue Note, Jazz Standard or Birdland.
A stylish club with great atmosphere in the up and coming "Mülheim" neighborhood in the east of Cologne. Check out the great design created of recycled materials, original metal beams and exposed brick walls!
Our “Tonkunsthalle” building is located in an industrial area in Cologne,
Germany. 100 Years ago, the first telephone cables connecting
Europe and New York were produced here. We converted the former warehouse space into
a cultural center including our live music club.
Our company art olive is a music rehearsal room renting company
providing more than 100 rehearsal rooms, several recording studios,
and drummers’ cabins. All together, more than 250 bands are rehearsing at Tonkunsthalle.
Klub der Töne is my own jazz club, custom-made for the Orange Sunday show.
I literally built the entire club myself - the stage, the curtain, the bathrooms,
the bar. Also, I did the interior design and every piece of furniture or
equipment was hand-selected by me.
The club can fit up to 190 people, has great acoustics and is perfectly set up for live gigs.
The main room includes an open floor where you can sit up close to the band, and a small balcony
level where you can relax in cozy couches while taking in the scene below.
When we don't have shows, the club is rented out for weddings, birthdays and cd releases.
The yard is the perfect waiting area before the show and a great place for the audience to chill out
during the breaks between the sets.
“ On selected Sundays, the Orange Sunday show takes place at the Klub der Töne in art olive. For each show, I combine a new, high quality house band. ”

When we bought the building in 2014, it was just a run-down, unrestored warehouse space. Here are photos taken from the exact same angle before and after our conversion.
